Hierophant the ultimate teacher

Welcome Wolfy's as a part of this blogk hop I will be talking about Hierophant.

For anyone who has found this post and has not seen the previous blog post from the amazing Bree about Magician over on her blog Nym's Dvination please do have a look at it.

Hierophant is one of the Major arcana cards within tarot. And as such it represents an important archetype within the tarot system.
Though the Hierophant is attributed with great many talents, among the most expressed are: teaching, great wisdom and traditionalism

Hierophant is known to guide with stern but fair judgement and will share his wisdom whenever that is asked of him. The following are traditional meanings attributed to the Hierophant, how I interpret the Hierophant and meanings I chose for the image of the Hierophant I created.

Traditionally Hierophant stands for  stearn and clear judgement. He is the teacher of the world, his wisdom transcending the earthly plane. His knowledge goes far beyond the physical plane, as it reaches into the realms of spirit. He is the embodiment of the old ways, is wisdom coming from a place of tradition.
He is associated with the religions of the world. Thus connecting him to the idea of belief and belief systems. Holding on to what he believes is true, is essential for him.

My interpretation, is for the most part following these principles, though there are some differences made as I associate some other meanings with the Hierophant card.

For the main figure in the image I choose a female character.
Which is most commonly represented as a male figure, expressing a religious belief.
Her posture and expression showcase the firm, steady and mind oriented point of view, she brings to the table.
There is no changing her mind! She will express her truth without any doubt in her mind.
The crown or the headset, which is usually represented in the Hierophant card is no longer there.
Expressing that her wisdom and status doesn't need to be questioned in order for it to be proven.

Horns growing upon her head show that her wisdom and strength come from a primal place of her nature.
Book levitating in front of the figure once again represents that she transcends the physical realm.
The book itself is a representation of her knowledge taking physical form. Being brought forth from the realms of the spirit.

Creating physical change, she represents Magicians craft and spiritual science fully expressed in physical form.

Scepter in her left (intuitive) hand expresses her will and might over her domain.
Giving her the status of a leader among her fellow man.
Pillars in the background show her connection to the earth. Representing the channel for the spiritual / higher dimensional energies to take a physical form.

It is the earth itself absorbing knowledge of the Everlasting!
She is the spiritual guide, the ultimate teacher, the craft now mastered and a applied.
At times her beliefs may get her stuck in the same cycle, but she is by no means ignorant or unwilling to see the error of her ways.

When it is to much tarot?

For those of us who love a good tarot reading, it can become something we acquire on a regular basis. But how to know when it's too much? What is the point when a tarot reading turns from cure to poison!

In my experience with tarot every reading occurs for a reason.  Every reading was/is done in order for a message to be heard. A message that is for the most part supposed to heal, inspire and empower the seeker.

There is a point where the message can become unhelpful and can be restricting.

Asking the same question over and over again isn't helpful. For the most part the reading will be the same, every time.

The only way an answer in a tarot will change is if we have actually made some action. Every action we make is changing the path we are on.

After a reading it might be good to create action steps in order to build momentum and create action.

Another  thing is unwillingness to accept the reading.  After a reading there is always that moment of thought ˝I like how things are looking! There is some stuff that I don't like, but that ain't true any way!˝
Having a reading after reading with this mindset, will at some point start to create a change. Universe/Tarot is going to present us with alternate answers: ˝If you don't want this truth, I'm going to feed you what you want even if it's not true!˝
At that point the reading is no longer healthy, because the way it is approached in the first place was unhealthy.

There is one more thing I would like to touch on, and that is dependent readings.
Dependant reading is what I like to call a reading that doesn't empower the Seeker, but seemingly takes the power away.
It leaves the Seeker feeling lost and thinking they are unable to choose on their own.

Needless to say this is  unhealthy and not what a tarot reading is about
This most commonly occurs when every chance we make this dictated/directed with a tarot reading. It gets to the point where even the most ordinary everyday choices are affected.

Every choice we are making is then taken to be decided by an external force.
This way of living causes a feeling of disassociation from seekers life.
And can cause the seeker to feel as though they have no responsibility for their life.

Dependent reading will only deepen the feeling of disempowerment towards life.
In the end it is not about how many reading is done, it is about having the right approach and mindset.
A tarot reading is able to show us the choices we have, paths we can explore and reveal truths we may not yet consider. It is not here to restrict or bind us.

A tarot reading offers us freedom. And the best way we can use this is to have an open mind, accept what is true to us and live by what feels right. It is not about blindly accepting a tarot reading…

If anything a tarot reading is a great way to start questioning what is true and what isn't. Finding our personal truth rather than following truth of another!

Dark decks in Light readings

We all know of those decks. Decks that make us sigh in wonder and amazement.
Those dark beauties that capture us.
How would those decks act in readings that are light oriented?  Well, let's see!

First, of I would like to explain what I mean by 'Light' reading and 'Dark' deck.
A light reading for me is geared towards inspirational messages, motivation, joy and gentleness of ones being.
On the other side, we have a dark deck… Some people may think that dark decks are evil or that they call trough something negative, I disagree!

A dark deck is nothing more than a representation of traditional energies in tarot in a more shadowy and unconscious way. Thus the original energies and messages are still there but are expressed differently.
A dark deck is just a different expression of traditional energies and images presented in a deck.  Using a dark deck for that kind of reading might seem a bit out there.
For those of us who enjoy a meaty dark deck, doing what would be called a 'shadow' reading seems most logical.
But this doesn't mean that doing 'light' readings is impossible.
Taking a dark deck up for a light reading might actually be very empowering and insightful.
With light decks, the message is for the most part very gentle and soft. A dark deck can potentially bring more serious messages with a light touch.  Inspirational readings done with a dark deck don't have to be shadowy or dark in any way. Quite the opposite they can be very deep and rich in meaning.
A dark deck can give a lot, that a light deck might of have not been able to pick up on.

The brighter the light, the darker the shadow. ~Carl Jung~

Getting the death card is always a 'sigh' moment in a  reading. Working with the dark deck is having that moment all the time. Just because the images are so visceral and potent.                                       Images in a  dark deck are most commonly presenting shadowy figures and expressions of death, power and fear.
It is something some readers will shy away from, but having an experience with these images can be very healing and empowering, even inspirational.
A message with a healthy serious undertone is always welcome.

Light and shadow are opposite sides of the same coin. We can illuminate our paths or darken our way. It is a matter of choice. ~Maya Angelou~

Bellow are meanings for The Empress card, one from Dark Angles tarot and the other from Rider Wait Smith tarot. Each card is asked/ in the position of inspiration.

Rider-Waite tarot: You are the creator of your reality. The unrestricted creator dwells within you. Recognise this power within you.  Give unconditional love to all creations of your being.

Dark Angels Tarot: Your love through unconditional and pure may be questioned. Your creations need your strength and protection as well as your love. Become the warrior for your creation.

Here we see that this duality compliments one another. Even though both cards are the same and come from the same energy. Both cards have different blends of energies that make them unique.
So to conclude. Yes, dark decks can be used for doing light readings. The spreads we use can always be tweaked to fit the needs of our reading as well as the deck we use.
In the end, it is about doing the reading and letting us take on a journey.  No matter what the deck we use!

Spring of love - Communication

Communication of any kind is important but in relationships especially, communication holds a great wight. In my opinion communication represents exchange of thought, emotion and energy. Because we identify communication mostly as speech we tend to close other comunication paths of.
Lack of communication is the one of the biggest reason people break apart. You can't have a successful relationship if you don't express what you think and feel.
And you can't expect someone to read your mind.
So what you are left with is to either express or eventually hurt.

 Communicate every day
I cannot praise enough about communicating every single day. Have that five minute talk if that is all the tme you have in a day.  Is  something that your partner said bothering you. Ask them why they said that, and then explore why did you get hurt by what they said. Express to them that you felt hurt. Allow them to express aswell. It's important that mutual communication occurs. As I said before don't expect someone to read your mind. I think that a big part of communication is vulnerability. Being vulnerable enought to express. Being vulnerable enough to empathise and understand.

Say what you mean,  mean what you say                                                                                              I think that a lot of us don't say things as they are, for alot of different reasons. But when it comes to dealing with stuff there is nothing more unhelpful than sugar coating things. Sometimes you just need a kick in the ass. Getting real with yourself and with person your in relationship with. You have to get to the point of things eventually, and why make it a strugle for yourself. Sometimes saying the truth feels like hurting and it can be, I don't say that it isn't. But  that harsh truth can give us the push we need to make some change, and  move things around.

No words just actions                                                                                                             Expressing what you think or feel through actions can have even greater impact than expressing those same thoughts and emotions through speach. Sometimes it's enough to hug someone instead of telling them 'I love you'. What happens a lot is that people have tough time expressing their emotions physically. And quite often when that happens in relationships you'll have a partner who assumes you don't care for them. This happens because of difference in love language and lack of communication. For this reason I want you to explore 5 love languages.  Communication through actions adds to the level of connectin to oneself and other people.

Finding love

Hello love, want to find love this valentine's day right ? So where do you start. First place that I would search is yourself. You can only ever find true love for others if you first find true love for yourself. Now that sounds so easy right ? If you've ever researched about this topic of  self love, you'll know that it can be tricky and complicated. I decided to make it easy for you, at least make the beginging easy so you can slip into this shues of self love as easely as possible. First we have to determine what we are searching for, and that is love.

What is love ?

Love is the highest vibration there is. From Sources perspective love is the highest vibration there is. And therefore Source holds that highest vibration, and in esence is that love vibration.
Word love is used for  such a plethora of things, it's normal we get confused about it. It can be the word used to represent feeling states, attitudes, pleasures, or strong affections felt for any number of things from romantic attachments to sexual attachments to platonic attachments.  In esence love is as simple as it can be, but we have made it complicated to ourselves. Right now I want you to make love simple, understandable and achievable to yourself.

5 Languages of love

The idea of 5 love languages  comes from Dr. Gary Chapman  who's marriage counselor and director of marriage seminars.  5 love languages are basicly groups in which each one of us fals as a love being.  Understanding your love language and  love language of people in your life could reveal  love in places you didn't think love exsisted.

1. Words of Affirmation: Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten.
2. Quality Time: In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.
3. Receiving Gifts: Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous—so would the absence of everyday gestures.
4. Acts of Service: Can vacuuming the floors really be an expression of love? Absolutely! Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most wants to hear: “Let me do that for you.” Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them tell speakers of this language their feelings don’t matter.
5. Physical Touch: This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive.

 Hearing your emotions !

Get to know your emotions.
Besides  exploring  feelings of love, we have many more emotions that we explore. Those emotions are our signals as to what is happening in our mind. They can be used a s guides to our happines and if ignored to our unhappiness aswell. We will be following emotions in order to get to where we want to go. Our emotions express themselves through manny different ways. Your task will be finding out how you experience emotions in your body and psyche.  If your intune with yourself you probably know how your emotions feel. But for alot of us, we find it hard to diiscover just how our emotions actually feel in our body. So I want you to explore ways in which you can sense your emotions.

Get a journal

There has a been a over praise about journaling. Well good things are always the most popular, right? There is no such thing as taking a peace of paper and a pen and a just spilling your guts out. No matter which way you record your thoughts and emotions   you will get same results, the important  things is that you do actually record them. You may choose to tape yourself on a phone or your compuer, go crazy do what resonates with you.  What I would recommend is that you try to record yourslef at least once a day or if you can do it, twice. First thing in the morning and the last thing at night.  Here are some suggested questions you can answer at each season:
Morning: How do I feel ? What do I want to accomplish today ?  What are three things that I can do today that will make me happy today?
Evening:  How did my day go? How do I feel about today? What did I accomplish today?  Things that I'm grateful for about today?  How did love show up in my life today?

Be present with you emotions

Be present with your emotions, sounds real easy right? Well it can be bloody hard at first. But once you start, you will feel refreshed and lighter and more inspired.  This is a process that requires your full commitment.  Right here and now I will give you an exercise that you can do right away. Give this exercise a shot every day if you can.
First I want you to close your eyes and relax. You can get into meditation pose,  you can stand, lay down or whatever works for you.  I want you to be as still as possible. Let yourself be open to anything that comes to you, try not to engage with any thoughts that come to you.
One thing that helped me was imagining your thoughts to be clouds on the sky and you allowing them to flow and just observing them. Or imagining that your thoughts are leaves floating on a river stream and your are bserving them pass by you. Make sure that if you get any sensations or emotions in your body you remember them for latter. Pay attention to feelings that rise up and how your body responds to them. Don't try to change them just allow them to be there.
If your ego starts giving you thoughts repeat the first part of releasing emotioins into clouds or them being leaves on a river stream. Once you think you have done enought of  this work open your eyes.
If you want you can check how has your mood and emotion changed or shifted.  This will clarify your senses and with practice you will be able to recognize you emotions and thus follow what suits you best.
Other thing you can do to keep track of your emotions is write in your jurnal. You can check  a bit that I have writen on journaling  int his little bundle of joy.

Shadow work.

Shadow work is something that can not be unacknowledged. Shadow work has become an essential part of self exploration. Eaven do it is feared  by many it holds an important place in our lives.  Shadow work has become a stigmatised thing in todays world.  In all it's simplicity shadow work is a proces of bringing unconscious into the light of conscious. You will find that there are many ideas and thereby, many tecniques that can be used.  I will be sharing some tips and tricks from my favoirite teachers in this feald in seperate blog post.  Some simple things that you can do or use, as a part of your shadow work may include universally  known journal work, meditations,
Intentional decision making, Pattern discovery, Tarot cards, oracle cards, rituals…
If you are or a planning to be in relationship and you recognize a pattern that is happening in every relationship you are in, I want you to do this.
Get yourself into a position that is comfortable and close your eyes. Now allow that pattern to play like a movie in front of you. See what emotions, sensations or thoughts come up and note them somewhere after your done, or have someone with you who will write all that is happening. See the parts of pattern you may have not seen untill now and acknowledge them. See what emotions rise up and  how they feel in your body how do they come into play, question them.
What does this emotion mean to me? How does this emotion feel in my body ? What thoughts does this emotion cause me to think? Exc… Do the same with any thoughts and sensation in your body.

Some of the most powerful questions you can ask yourself are:

What  emotions is this experience  causing  me to feel ?

What thoughts is this experience causing me to think ?

What does this expereince mean to me ?

What is the positive intention behind this (negative) experience?

There is much more you can explore, this is only a starter in this feald, something to explain what shadow work is and a start for you. I would recomend exploring some more information before you start with shadow work. It can be tricky and at times it will be difficult and  it is best you know what you are signing up for.  You will find that ego can sometimes be a big block just beacuse of how it's designed and beacuse of it's purpose, that is something you explore aswell.

Your  amazing, be grateful !

One thing that I've included in journaling area is gratitude practice. Journaling can be included as place to express your gratitude.  One of the things that you can do is a love letter to self.  I will be including one of my personal love letters  at the end of this peace. Writing a love letter is terapeutic and freeing. Declare love to yourself, declare gratitude to appreciation.
Other exercise I want to present you with is gratitude  reflection. Every time you go by a miror I want you to find one thing that you think is great about you. Something you are gratefull you have on yur body. Is it your eyes, your hair, the way you walk, the way you speak, exc... It can as big or as small as you wish it to be. It's up to you.
Everyone loves gifts. That is one things that proves someone is loving you 100% You feel love and cared for when someone gives you a gift and tells you 'I love you'.Why wouldn't you treat yourself with something amazing from time to time ? You know that you deserve love, so why not get it. There is nothing bad it treating yourself with something you enjoy.  Treat yourself, love yourself.

Declaration of love to self

Dear self,

I don't need to tell you how many times I've spoken of doing things for you, but never did.
And I don't need to tell how many times I've believed that your not good enough.  You know that I love you for being this weirdly funy person. I love you for being someone who is able to be around people. To feel their touch, to heat their voice, to see their true divine spark. I love you for how you carry yourself throug the world, for the way you burst into laughter all the time. I love you for the way your hair falls when your not trying to make it perfect. I love you for being here with me.
I Love you for giving me support and strenght. I love you for giving me opportuniti to experience this magic world and all that is of it. I choose to listen to you from now on. Choose to cherish you. I choose to appreciate you. I choose to love you. I choose to be you here and now!

Hello,

My name is Goran, and I'm a tarot reader, artist and explorer.  I am based in the north part of Croatia. On an edge of a forest, surrounded by nature and wildlife.  Growing up sorounded by nature I would always draw trees, plants and animals.  I took art as something I could create my life around in high school and here I am since then. Tarot came in my life a bit latter. It was after the summer of 2012 that I discovered the world of cards. And fell in love. I've been slinging cards ever since. Not a day goes by that the cards aren't in my hands. That is my life, full of tarot cards, wonder, myst and occasional color spill.  I invite you to partake in my journey and share this wonderous experience!
